You can spend a happy autumn day in Low Newton fishing off the rocks or building sandcastles with the children. There are coastal walks that start from (or more importantly end at) the pub. In one direction, the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, in the other Beadnall Beach. The pub is minimalistic but the real draw is outside, where you can wrap up warm and look out over the village green towards the sea.
The Kinder Downfall. In high winds you'll see the water blow back creating a cloud of spray visible for miles.
