WHERE TO STAY
THE PIG IN THE WALL
8 Western Esplanade, Southampton SO14 2AZ
Nestled within Southampton’s medieval walls you’ll find The Pig. Each of the 12 rooms have been thoughtfully designed to strike a balance between homely yet luxurious charm. They range from snug nooks in the eves to sprawling quarters featuring a roll top bath (don’t mind if we do!). The Pig also hosts a deli counter to die for, serving up charcuterie boards, salads and top class wines.
WHERE TO EAT
Shamrock Quay, William St, Southampton SO14 5QL
When by the sea, seafood is a must. Cove is a hidden gem, tucked away in Shamrock Quay and a welcome retreat from the Ocean Village bustle. Furnished to a serene nautical theme that pays homage to its history, they have an extensive menu and well stocked bar. This is fish with an Italian twist, so expect indulgent seafood linguine and ‘calamari fritti.’ We love it when good things come together.
WHERE TO DRINK
BRING & MIX
36 Upper Bannister Street, Southampton, SO15 2EF
A cocktail bar with a difference. Bring & Mix have taken the old BYOB format and turned it into a highly classy affair. Providing a truly bespoke experience, you bring your favourite tipple to the table and their talented mixologist will transform it into a sensational cocktail. But shhhh, it’s the 1920s and prohibition has taken hold, only a secret password will grant you entry. Good luck!
WHAT NOT TO MISS
Havelock Road, Southampton SO14 7FY
Links with the sea permeate every aspect of Southampton life past and present. It’s fitting that they have a museum dedicated to this heritage. For one, Titanic began her tragic maiden voyage from these very docks and SeaCity honours this with a highly interactive exhibition. Explore their 1.25 scale model of the titanic and listen to powerful testimonies from survivors in the ‘Disaster Room.’
