BBC COUNTRYFILE LIVE
2nd August – 5th August 2018
Come and see one of Britain’s best loved shows come to life in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. You’ll have a rare chance to meet the presenters and hear them recall some memorable thrills and spills from life on the road. Aside from the behind-the-scenes action, expect an eclectic mix of dogs herding ducks, off road driving, and a heavy horse display. You can even try your hand at kayaking. Don’t worry, there’s a lovely pub garden onsite as an antidote to all that activity.
4th August – 11th August 2018
Not much can compete with Lendy Cowes Week. The oldest and largest annual sailing regatta in the world. The eight day schedule combines highly competitive racing, plenty of fun, and supreme shore-side entertainment. Cowes Week makes up a special part of our own story, with our founder Alastair Parker-Swift taking his first ever collection there in the early 90s. It was the ultimate testing ground. Luckily, he sold every last piece.
BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS
30th August – 2nd September 2018
Burghley is an exciting time for any equestrian enthusiast. These four days will see the best horses and riders in the world battle it out across dressage, cross country and show jumping. Give yourself a break from the nail biting action with a stroll around the extensive shopping pavilion (we’ll be there of course!) and the much anticipated ‘Food Walk’, which promises all manner of fine country delights.
Alfresco dining is arguably one of the best things about summer. Long, balmy evenings that seem to last forever. Of course, the food has to be up to the job, and we think this seared scallop salad is just the ticket. This comes from Covent Garden’s MAZI. Founders Christina Mouratoglou and Adrien Carré have just released a cookbook, letting us into some of their best kept secrets. We’re all ears.
