JULY
GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW
11th - 13th July
Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, HG2 8NZ
The HRH Prince of Wales is a big fan of Harrogate’s Great Yorkshire Show. Rams, rabbits, racehorses and more will be parading around the huge showground – which also includes 1,200 stands selling everything from combine harvesters to Crew Clothing. The Big Cheese Auction is not be missed.
 
NEW FOREST & HAMPSHIRE COUNTY SHOW
25th - 27th July
New Forest National Park, The Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst SO42 7QH
Horses are the main event at this show. Founded in 1921 it’s one of the longest running in the farming world. There’s international showjumping and dozens of qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show, alongside motocross and a gruelling game of tug of war against a tractor.
 
THE GAME FAIR
28th - 30th July
The Game Fair, Hatfield House, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL10 0RN
For lovers of clay, rifle and airgun shooting. This is the largest countryside show in the world, rotating yearly around England’s finest country estates. This year you’ll find it at Hatfield House. Admire the gun dogs, ferrets, horses and hounds, fly fishing and falconry, ride a helicopter or go off-road in a Suburu.
 
AUGUST
BAKEWELL SHOW
1st - 3rd August
The Showground, Coombs Rd, Bakewell DE45 1AQ
Held in the Peak District, this event fondly known as the ‘Little Royal’ has been going for almost 200 years – so they know how to put on a good show. Along with award-winning livestock, there’ll be wine, dogs and fly-fishing on the River Wye, as well as a full day dedicated to horses.
 
COUNTRYFILE LIVE
3rd - 6th August
Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, OX20 1PP
A four-day event from the BBC’s Countryfile. Set in the grounds of Oxfordshire’s Blenheim Palace, there’s furry friends galore – including animals from Adam’s Farm and heaps of waggy-tailed pedigrees. Cool off in the Great British Ice Cream Parlour before hitting the National Trust Theatre for insight from wildlife experts.
 
LAND ROVER BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS
31st August - 3rd September
Burghley House,Peterborough, Stamford
Top-level dressage, cross country and showjumping competitions with some of the best horses in the world. It’s set in the parkland of Burghley House in Lincolnshire. There’s a huge shopping village with row-upon-row of tweed, jodhpurs, wellies, hats and Crew Clothing. A four-day event for the horse mad.
 
SEPTEMBER
BERKSHIRE COUNTY SHOW
16th - 17th September
Newbury Showground, Priors Court Road, Hermitage, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG18 9QZ
Everything you’d expect from a traditional country show – farming is very much the focus – with the addition of a craft marquee, flower tent and a cookery theatre. Top tip: look out for the hot air balloons that take to the skies at the end of each day. Spectacular.
