Wash less

Good news: your laundry pile just got a little bit smaller. Protect the fit and colour of your denim by maximising how many times you wear yours between washes - we recommend four times at least. Worried about staying fresh? Pour vodka into spray bottle, turn your jeans inside out and give them a good spritz to kill any bacteria. For spills and stains, try an old toothbrush and mild soap. A quick scrub should do the trick.

TWO

Wash cold

Look after your jeans, the environment and your electricity bill, and wash that denim on a cold cycle. Due to the nature of the fabric and the dyeing processes used, denim can become shrunken and faded when temperatures get a little on the warm side. Keep it cool and you’ll help keep the colour and the shape of your favourite jeans.

THREE

Wash smart

When it comes to protecting your denim, a little extra attention can make all the difference. Turn jeans inside out to prevent scratches to the zip and hardware, and be sure not to overload the washing machine. As a heavy fabric, too much denim in one cycle can stop jeans coming out as squeaky clean as they should, so limit to three-to-four pairs and your denim will thank you for it.

Air dry

Want your jeans to keep their shape? Ditch the tumble dryer, turn them inside out and air dry to help protect the fit and colour of the denim. Top tip: make sure to shake out the fabric around the waistband – no more soggy pockets here, thanks.

Revamp it

Don’t let a little wear and tear stop you from wearing your favourite denim. Rips in the fabric can easily be exaggerated for a contemporary look, while scuffed edges can be cut off to make an of-the-moment raw hem. If you have more time, why not get creative with patches and embroidery? Sustainable, stylish and completely unique to you.
