WHITSTABLE OYSTER FESTIVAL
22nd - 24th July
There’s a community feel about the Whitstable Oyster Festival that makes you want to be a part of it. The man vs. food oyster eating competition is legendary, and with a food fair proudly focused on fresh local produce, a pirate treasure hunt and a mud tug of war (it’s a point of honour, you have to join in) you’ll be talking about this one for years to come.
PORT ELIOT FESTIVAL
27th - 30th July
Named the most beautiful place in England by Napoleon, you’d be pushed to find a more idyllic spot for a festival than Cornwall’s Port Eliot, a medieval monastery nestled on the side of the River Tiddy. There’s something round every corner of the estate’s ancient walled gardens – listen to a literary great on the Bowling Green, dance your socks off in The Boogie Round (discovered through a secret door in a hedge) or go for a swim at sunset.
LENDY COWES WEEK
29th July - 5th August
We’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Cowes Week, not only because it’s the largest and most prestigious sailing regatta in the world, but because we launched there over 20 years ago. Pull on some Crew and be one of 100,000 people watching 1,000 boats compete in 40 races, every day for eight days. Find a spot between the Castle of the Royal Yacht Squadron and the cannons – trust us, it’s gives the best view on the island.
TEAPIGS STRAWBERRY SUPER FRUIT ICE TEA
Preperation time: 5 mins.
With Wimbledon about to takeover our television screens, bring the sporting spirit into the kitchen with this classic strawberry-infused ice tea recipe from Teapigs. It’s so easy and takes just five minutes. We think this could be the perfect summer drink.
