TOUR OF BRITAIN
1st September – 9th September 2018
In a tradition dating back to 1945, the world’s top riders will again saddle up to take on a 1,136.1-kilometre race from Pembrey Country Park in Wales to London. The route is a challenging one, with numerous brutal hills bound to separate the wheat from the chaff. Pitch up to show your support along the eight race stages in Devon, Bristol, Warwickshire, Cumbria or Nottinghamshire.
7th September – 9th September 2018
Transport yourself back a few decades at the Goodwood Revival. The golden era of racing car heroes comes to life at this glorious celebration of all things classic. The estate in East Sussex was the spiritual home of British motorsport from 1948 to 1966, and the circuit hasn’t changed since its heyday. There’s as much fun off the track as on, with many choosing to turn up entirely in period dress. Tweeds and trilbies, we’re looking at you.
THE GREAT RIVER RACE
8th September 2018
A water-borne spectacular spanning 21.6 miles from London Docklands to Ham in Surrey. As with any modern marathon, outfits range from the ordinary to the outlandish, with face paint, Viking hats and all manner of fancy dress taking centre stage. Over 330 crews from across the globe are expected to take part. Bag yourself a viewing spot along the route and we recommend getting in early. Tower Bridge is a favourite.
Considering we’re all hoping for a warm weather extension, we thought we may as well indulge in some classic summer desserts for a little longer. These vegan friendly meringues hail from Mildred’s, a big name on the ever-growing vegetarian restaurant scene. Aquafaba is one of the most exciting vegan food discoveries of recent years and essentially comes from bean water. Just the thing for a (hopefully!) endless summer.
