Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of product knowledge
• Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of outstanding customer service
• Ability to be flexible with working hours to fit with the events calendar
• A positive hands – on approach

Desirable:

• Good numerical and IT skills
• Previous experience of working in a retail environment
• Previous events experience
• Full UK drivers license as role requires a lot of travel

Main Aim of Role: To help set up the stand in preparation for the event opening; this involves putting up flags/banners, putting stand structure in place and stocking the stand. Once open to the public, the role involves selling the company merchandise by offering exceptional service to customers and operating as an integrated member of the events team, supporting the team with the day to day running of the event.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Selling

• Proactive in contributing towards maximum sales of merchandise as measured against daily targets set by Events Manager
• To offer a personal and professional standard of customer service to every customer who enters the events stand
• To understand and provide accurate information about goods being sold at the event
• To have an understanding of fashion trends and looks and use this knowledge to advise customers of the appropriate merchandise, to compliment the overall look
• To advise customers on how to take care of merchandise and advise on the appropriate products to use

Stock

• To ensure careful handling of merchandise to prevent any unnecessary damage
• To maintain high standards of stock maintenance
• To assist in the maintenance and housekeeping of the stand
• To assist in sale preparation and pricing at event
• To assist the team in completing thorough, timely replenishments and to keep an organised, clean back-of-house
