The Best Beaches in the Southwest

Salcombe – Devon
Call us biased, but our hometown of Salcombe in Devon will always be one of our favourite coastal escapes. Overlooking a beautiful estuary and surrounded by rolling hills, sandy coves and breathtaking sea views, it's a place that embodies everything we love about life by the water. Spend your day wandering the harbour, browsing shops (including our Crew store, of course), stopping for leisurely pub snacks and soaking up the town's calming coastal charm. With scenic walks along the Southwest Coast Path and countless spots to pause and take in the stunning views, it's no surprise Salcombe continues to inspire us season after season.

Gwithian Towans – Cornwall
Stretching along the edge of St Ives Bay, Gwithian Towans is one of Cornwall's most impressive coastal landscapes. With 3 miles of golden sand, rolling dunes and dramatic cliffs, it's the perfect setting for long beach days and seaside adventures with the family. The beach is particularly popular with surfers and kitesurfers, thanks to the Atlantic swells and wide-open shoreline. At low tide, the sands reveal rock pools, hidden coves and plenty of natural wonders for little ones to explore. Plus, it’s dog-friendly all year round making it the perfect place to take the family pooch.

Holywell Bay – Cornwall
With its golden sands and towering dunes, Holywell Bay is a true haven for beach lovers. One of Cornwall's most spectacular stretches of coastline, the expansive beach offers breathtaking views and plenty of space to unwind on a hot summer’s day. Just beyond the bay lies Porth Joke, a secluded cove beloved for its unspoilt beauty, perfect for family days out and scenic coastal walks. Situated between the popular seaside towns of Perranporth and Newquay, Holywell Bay is the ideal spot for exploring North Cornwall's rugged, yet beautiful coastline and charming coastal villages.
For those with an interest in history, a walk to Kelsey Head reveals the remains of an Iron Age cliff castle, perched dramatically on the cliff edge and offering stunning panoramic views across the coast.
