A tradition dating back to 1845, the Oxford vs Cambridge University boat race is an action-packed contest, with a route stretching from Putney to Mortlake. Find a spot bankside, choose a favourite and cheer them on as the two teams go head to head in pursuit of the winning title. With plenty of pubs, restaurants and cosy hotels along the four-mile course, visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to catching their breath after this world class event.
